The Popular Show Campaign 4 Unveils the Soldiers Party

From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of characters, and a thrilling plot showcasing celestial beings, fiends, and sinister influences growing in power within Dol-Makjar.

Note: Spoilers for the latest installment of the new season lie ahead.

The Warrior Group Introduced

Episode 3 concluded with a dramatic pause and revealed the premier party of adventurers who will separate from the primary party to begin their separate journey, separate from the other two tables.

The Soldiers table includes the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).

The Reason for Division

Given 13 cast members, it was obvious from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be impossible.

That’s why, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Overture, connecting the characters’ stories before branching into three distinct groups: Warriors, Planners, and Explorers.

What Defines the Combat Party

As described by the DM, the combat-focused party is for participants who prefer a classically intense battle-oriented narrative style where peaceful solutions are rare.

Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might look unsuited, but the actions of the latest installment show why these particular heroes are best suited for the warrior group.

Reasons to Leave

To begin with, the party understands precisely where to head next after a intense first encounter with The Crow Keepers.

Casimir of Thjazi—whose passing initiated the story’s plot—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, entering Thjazi’s hideout, attacking Thimble, and stealing all the enchanted items to auction.

Casimir then cleared his liabilities and ran away to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, above the urban center, with Cyd close behind.

Individual Reasons

Moreover, each character has a individual motive to leave the city the urban setting:

  • Thimble, as the close ally and trusted friend, desires revenge.
  • The adventurer has experience in Timmony and warns that it is a nasty environment.
  • Tyranny and The cleric, having disobeyed his house’s orders to eliminate Teor and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
  • Yet, their status as key figures in the influential clan could help the party enter areas they normally couldn’t.
  • Furthermore, The fighter swore a life debt to The savior for his rescue and will now follow him anywhere.

Pursued by Authorities

In addition, all of them are wanted by the powers that rule the setting for a range of causes, making staying in the city no longer safe:

  • The agile adventurer and Kattigan are known criminals.
  • The strong figure and The healer turned against House Halovar and the army of fiends they are allied with.
  • Teor is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.

This results in them no alternative but to travel to the northern region in search of Casimir.

Upcoming Developments

Based on the latest episode’s follow-up content, we learn that the Soldiers table will be absent the following episode, leaving the remaining eight participants to assemble the Explorers and Schemers parties.

Viewers can look forward to learning which adventurers will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on October 24.
